Our Roots
The Pipes and Drums of the Edmonton Police Service are proud representatives of the City of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. They have a storied past dating back to 1914. The band provides music and goodwill to the citizens of Edmonton, surrounding communities and beyond. The band has travelled extensively throughout Western Canada and the United States. After trips to Juno Beach in France in 2003 and 2004, they traveled to Ireland in 2010 and then in May 2012 they enjoyed a trip to Hamilton, Bermuda. In May 2015 they traveled to Belgium and France to participate in the 100th Anniversary Celebrations for the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. They were part of the Barbados Celtic Festival in May 2017 and in September 2019 the band made their first trip to Scotland!

Paul McCartney 2012
The Pipes and Drums were thrilled to play two shows with Paul McCartney at Rexall Place in Edmonton in November 2012.
Bermuda 2012
In May 2012 the Pipes and Drums traveled to Bermuda and took part in the Bermuda Day Parade in Hamilton in front of thousands of people.
Ireland 2010
The band traveled to Northern Ireland to close an important chapter in the history of the Edmonton Police Service and its Irish connections.
